Compliance, DvP and settlement

Verify eligibility, reserve each leg, submit an atomic instruction, confirm finality and reconcile. Explore rejection, rollback and an unknown outcome.

Fictional educational scenarios. No wallet connection, live transaction or investment recommendation.

Choose a scenario

Changing scenario starts a fresh run and clears the assessment.

Choose a scenario

The fictional recipient/buyer passes this scenario’s stipulated holding and transfer checks. This is not real eligibility verification.

Reset restores all initial balances, scenario, inputs and learning-check state. Nothing is saved or sent.

Scenario assumptions
  • A fictional buyer pays USD 1,000 for 10 units. The seller starts with 10 units and no cash; the buyer starts with USD 2,000, or USD 500 in the shortfall scenario. No real identity or jurisdiction is checked.
  • Reservations lock availability, not ownership. Finality commits both asset and cash legs in one deterministic update. A pre-finality failure releases both reservations without transferring either leg.
  • A timeout has an unknown outcome and cannot be cancelled or retried here. Reconciliation consults a stipulated authoritative success record and commits both legs; this does not claim a real chain is legally final.

Participants and responsibilities

Compliance agent checks the buyer; seller and cash agent reserve their legs; settlement operator submits one conditional instruction; authoritative ledger confirms finality; reconciler checks both records.

Holder claim

The buyer obtains the stipulated asset units only when the cash leg commits with them. Unknown eligibility cannot be bypassed by reserving or submitting first.

Failure and recovery

Try submitting with one leg missing. Then test rollback and a delayed finality result. Unknown completion must be reconciled before any repeat instruction.

A fresh scenario is ready. Read its assumptions, then run an action.

Run the mechanism

Actions follow the contract. You can try a blocked action to inspect why it is rejected; rejected actions preserve the ledger.

01Ready to run

Verify balance / eligibility

Payment checks available value including conversion fees; DvP checks the stipulated holding and transfer policy. Verification alone transfers nothing.

02Inspect rejection

Reserve seller asset

Lock 10 seller units without moving ownership. The cash leg is still independently required.

03Inspect rejection

Reserve buyer cash

Lock USD 1,000 of buyer cash without paying the seller. Insufficient cash blocks this leg.

04Inspect rejection

Submit conditional DvP

Both legs and eligibility must be ready. Submission is pending finality, so ownership and cash remain unchanged.

05Inspect rejection

Confirm authoritative finality

Commit both legs together, or encounter the delayed finality scenario. A single successful leg is never possible.

06Inspect rejection

Observe a timeout

A missing finality response makes the outcome unknown, preserving reservations and blocking repeats.

07Inspect rejection

Reconcile authoritative records

In an unknown run, read the stipulated successful ledger record and commit both legs. After known settlement, confirm matching records once.

08Inspect rejection

Simulate known service failure

Exposure freezes pending recovery. Before DvP finality, a known failure rolls back both reservations; an unknown outcome cannot be called a failure.

09Inspect rejection

Retry after known rollback

Start a fresh instruction after a known failed DvP. Eligibility and both reservations must be checked again.

10Ready to run

Cancel before commitment

Release holds only where the contract permits cancellation. Cleared payments and unknown DvP outcomes cannot be cancelled here.
